Gloucestershire College
Gloscat, one of the largest further education colleges in the UK, offers a wide range of education and training programmes including A Levels and GCSEs, vocational qualifications, work-based learning, basic skills courses, Higher Education, short courses for business, part-time day and evening courses and English for overseas students.
The College's main sites are: Brunswick Campus, Gloucester (encompassing the Centre for the Arts), Cheltenham Campus (a brand new, state-of-the-art campus at Princess Elizabeth Way), and the Engineering Technology Centre (a dedicated facility for Engineering provision), based in Gloucester. Gloscat also operates from over 120 community venues throughout Gloucestershire, and out of county.
The modern Gloscat was formed when its degree programmes transferred to the Colleges of St Paul and St Mary's, which then became Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education (now Gloucestershire University). From then, Gloscat's role focused on the provision of pre-degree academic courses, vocational training and education and HNDs. Since 1993 Gloscat has been independent and responsible for its own financial management.
