exploring assumptions and considering change in post-16 education

Somerset College of Arts and Technology is delighted to host a one day conference on 18th April 2005.
This exciting conference looks at "exploring assumptions and considering change in post-16 education" and will give the delegates the opportunity to consider current research inpost-16 education, enable them to critically reflect on some of the assumptions underpinning the practice and consider the implications for improving educational practice within post-16 education.

The speakers are widely acclaimed in their fields, and include:

Gert Biesta
Professor of Educational Theory at the School of Education and Lifelong Learning of the University of Exeter and the School's Director of Research.

Kathryn Ecclestone
Senior Lecturer Post-Compulsory Education at the University of Exeter.

David Selby
Professor of Continuing Professional Development within the Faculty of Education at the University of Plymouth.

The lectures will be followed by a selection of workshops.
